A Georgetown, SC artist embarks on a journey of documenting his experiences and interpretations of the ocean for his September solo exhibition “In Thought.” Psychologically-driven, Charles Williams explores the relationship between the ocean and his inner self. Between the hours of 5 to 9 pm, the ocean became a space where political, personal and past experiences were unraveled and captured on the canvas. Once a place for relaxation, the ocean evolved into a personal notebook for inspiring Williams’ paintings.
Seen in the American Art Collector, and Southwest Art Magazine for his 2011 show entitled “Captured,” as well as other various internet and art publications, Williams returns with his debut feature on the 2012 cover of the Professional Artist Magazine showcasing his journey of becoming an artist, leading with the “In Thought” preview. Other publications follow the rising artist with features and previews in the American Art Collector, Studio Visit, Charleston Magazine, Grand Strand Magazine, Escape into Life, the Oxford, Southwest Art and more.
“In Thought” will be presented on September 7th from 5-8 and will continue to be on view all month at the Robert Lange Studios Art Gallery in Charleston, SC. To find out more, please visit cewpaintings.com.
